Dubai: As part of Dubai Sports Council’s efforts to attract & scout sports talents and according to Dubai Government’s policy to support talents in various fields, DSC has announced the launch of the ‘Football Talent Development Centers in Dubai Clubs’ (Football Talent Centers) for the age groups from 12 to 17 years old.
From May 27th to 30th, 2024, DSC held gatherings and tryouts to boost the abilities of 120 talented players from Dubai clubs. These tryouts included technical, physical, and psychological evaluations. The best 75 players were selected and divided into three training centers based on their age:
- Ages 12-13 will train at Al-Wasl Club
- Ages 14-15 will train at Shabab Al-Ahli Club
- Ages 16-17 will train at Al-Nasr Club
The program will continue in the next sports season, featuring intensive training camps, matches, and theoretical and practical lectures. Academies’ technical managers will supervise training in collaboration with public and private sector partners.
Ahmed Al-Dalil Al-Rumaithi, Al-Nasr Football Academy’s Manager, welcomed the initiative and thanked DSC, participating clubs, and technical supervisors. He emphasized that this initiative will help identify outstanding players and supply national teams with top talents.
Hisham Poumbar, Technical Manager of Hatta Football Academy, highlighted the various training sessions designed to measure players’ reaction speed and improve their levels. The physical tryouts were supervised by the Sportify Academy.
Wael Al-Sisi, Technical Manager of Shabab Al-Ahli Academy, explained that the program for players aged 14 to 15 aims to meet short, medium, and long-term goals. It focuses on individual training, player development, and creating player profiles.
Dr. Sajad Karami, Director of Sportify Physical Measurements Academy, expressed gratitude for the initiative. He noted that physical tryouts included tests for strength, speed, flexibility, balance, and reaction, identifying top players in each age group.
Patrick Houdrick, Technical Manager of Al Wasl Football Academy, confirmed the success of the training sessions for players aged 12 to 13. He emphasized the importance of continued gatherings to maintain high performance levels.
