Al Arish (Egypt): The UAE Floating Hospital, located in the Egyptian city of Al Arish, has announced a significant expansion of its medical team under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. This initiative aims to enhance healthcare services for the Palestinian population in Gaza by adding specialized medical staff, including neurosurgeons, maxillofacial, and dental specialists.
Dr. Ahmed Mubarak, the hospital’s director, emphasized the continuous efforts to upgrade the hospital’s capabilities and resources. “We are committed to providing top-tier medical services, encompassing examinations, treatments, and follow-ups for our Palestinian patients,” he stated. The introduction of new specialized departments, such as neurosurgery and maxillofacial and dental care, is expected to significantly improve the hospital’s ability to deliver comprehensive healthcare under one roof.
A recent milestone for the hospital was a complex surgery on a Palestinian patient injured by an airstrike fragment, which caused a broken leg and severed nerve leading to foot immobility. The medical team successfully performed a delicate procedure to redirect tendons from the back to the front of the ankle, restoring foot movement.
Furthermore, the hospital continues its dedicated support for amputees by providing prosthetic limbs. A specialized team measures and manufactures the prosthetics, while also offering physical therapy and psychological rehabilitation to the patients.
