Sharjah: The Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) is quickly expanding its services to the commercial and industrial areas of Al Haray in Khorfakkan, focusing on safety and speed.
The first phase, which costs AED 19 million ($517 million) in total, aims to establish 12 sub-distribution stations (11 kV) and 12 kilometers of 11 kV cables while upholding the highest standards of safety and security.
According to Saud Abdulaziz, the director of SEWA’s Khorfakkan Department, the company is providing energy to Al Haray’s commercial and industrial sectors. Over AED12 million ($3 million) will be spent on the industrial area connection, while roughly AED7 million ($1 million) will be spent on the commercial area connection.
Until a permanent 33 kV main distribution station is built to completely power the area, these efforts will not stop.
Additionally, SEWA is dedicated to providing the Al Haray development with safe and clean water. The installation of the main water pipes and lines has already started.
These pipes range in diameter from 100 mm to 300 mm and are composed of Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) material. To serve all users in the industrial and commercial regions of Al Haray, the pipes will have a total length of 30,000 linear meters.
In the Emirate of Sharjah, the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) is a governmental utility that provides natural gas, water, and electricity to about 300,000 customers. Furthermore, SEWA owns Zulal, a company that focuses on drinking water in bottles. Since 2020, Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi has held the position of chairman.
