Sharjah: The ninth annual Souq Al Jubail Dates Festival has begun in Sharjah and will run until the end of September. This festival features wide participation from local date shop owners in Souq Al Jubail and several external participants.
Engineer Abdullah Al Shamsi, Director of Sharjah City Markets, emphasized the importance of the date festival. He noted that Souq Al Jubail organizes this event annually due to the high demand from citizens, residents, and visitors. The market is a significant marketing and tourist destination in the Emirate, particularly because of its central location.
Al Shamsi highlighted that the festival aims to support and promote national products, especially dates, during the peak date production season in the country. This initiative aligns with Sharjah’s efforts to enhance food security and develop the date sector.
