Sharjah: The 3rd annual Mango Festival 2024 is continuing to feature over 30 farmers showcasing more than 150 different varieties of mangoes and citrus fruits.
The event is organized by the Municipal Council of Khor Fakkan in collaboration with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Khor Fakkan City Municipality and is slated to run until 30th June at Expo Khor Fakkan.
Additionally, more farming businesses and prosperous families are taking part in the event. Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Dr. Rashid Khamis Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Khor Fakkan Municipal Council, officially opened the Mango Festival 2024.

Along with representatives of the Khor Fakkan Municipal Council and local department managers, Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director General of the SCCI, and Khalil Mohammed Al Mansouri, Director of Expo Khor Fakkan, attended the opening ceremony.
After the opening, guests explored the exhibition’s pavilions and were captivated by the variety of fruits on display. These fruits represent the growth of agricultural activities and the increasing interest in mango production in Khor Fakkan and the Eastern Region of Sharjah, as well as other fruits and citrus.
The festival this year is jam-packed with historical events as well as business and economic ventures, fostering a competitive environment among nearby farmers who display their assortment of citrus and mango harvests.

The event also features several competitions with noteworthy awards. These include an art competition for kids, The Mango Mazayna (a contest for the most beautiful mango), and a competition for the most exquisitely organized mango basket that is only open to ladies.
The Mango Festival, according to Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, is a multifaceted agricultural and tourism event. It honors the hard work of prosperous families and conscientious farmers in raising and manufacturing high-quality mango varieties, and it also contributes to the preservation of the UAE’s cultural legacy, fortifies local identity, and engages younger generations in agriculture.
A further important factor in boosting tourism and business in Khor Fakkan, the Eastern Region, and the entire Emirate of Sharjah is the yearly Mango Festival.

In addition, by encouraging local farmers to improve the quality of their produce, the event helps Sharjah’s agricultural output and exports—a vital component of the city’s food security and economic stability.
The festival supports the development and consumer marketing of regional agricultural products, which benefits farmers and improves the quality of production by utilizing cutting-edge agricultural techniques and practices.
Open every day from 4:30 PM to 10:00 PM, the Mango Festival 2024 offers a range of business and economic events and activities. Folk group performances, tournaments, and a variety of cultural programs are among the highlights.
The festival also has several instructional programs that give in-depth discussions of contemporary crop care and agricultural methods.
