Dubai: The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives’ (MBRGI) Digital School and Jordan’s Ministry of Education have joined forces to convert the school in Mrajeeb Al Fhood refugee camp into a comprehensive digital learning hub for students from grade 1 to grade 12.
The primary goal of the Digital School Initiative is to empower underprivileged and refugee pupils. The program serves youth from all socioeconomic, educational, and background backgrounds. Its goal is to offer accredited online education to students worldwide, with a focus on underprivileged communities.
The transformation of the Camp’s school into a fully integrated digital one marks a new milestone in the fruitful cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, according to a recorded speech by Omar Sultan AlOlama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Digital School.
“The launch marks a new success story for a humanitarian education project that reflects the visionary vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to provide educational opportunities for the least fortunate students in the world and to provide a modern and distinguished educational experience for the Syrian refugees,” said the minister.
Along with top representatives from the UAE Embassy, the Digital School, the Emirati-Jordanian Refugee Camp’s school in Mrajeeb Al Fhood, and the Jordanian Ministry of Education, Hamoud Al Junaibi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), attended the event.
The school provides over 2,500 pupils with a vibrant academic environment. Through the use of a complete digital transformation plan, the school has improved student outcomes beyond dispute. Its forty-five classrooms are now outfitted with cutting-edge equipment, such as interactive whiteboards and dependable internet access, to facilitate digital learning.
