Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has introduced advanced artificial intelligence (AI) systems at key entry points to streamline the Umrah pilgrimage process. This initiative, led by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), aims to improve efficiency and comfort for pilgrims.
The AI systems have been deployed at airports, seaports, and other transportation hubs, significantly reducing waiting times and simplifying entry procedures for those arriving by air, sea, or land. This upgrade comes as the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah resumes issuing Umrah visas after the Hajj season.

The implementation is in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and other government agencies, ensuring seamless integration. The AI facilities are now operational in major cities like Makkah and Madinah, and regions including the Eastern Province, Tabuk, Al-Jouf, the Northern Borders, Najran, and Jeddah Islamic Port.
This move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy to utilize modern technologies to improve various aspects of life within the Kingdom. By investing in AI, the government aims to enhance efficiency, service delivery, and overall quality of life for citizens and visitors.
