Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi has witnessed a remarkable day of inclusive sporting action as Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE Sailing and Modern Rowing Federation, crowned the winners of the People of Determination Marine Sports Festival.
Organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club in cooperation with the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination and supported by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the festival brought together more than 50 athletes who competed in sailing and kayak rowing. Participants showcased exceptional skill, determination, and a strong will to succeed across the competitions.
The awarding ceremony was attended by Ahmed Salem Al Shamsi, Director of Abu Dhabi Club for People of Determination; Rashid Al Falahi, Director of Support Services at Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club; and Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Director of Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Academy.
Al Suwaidi highlighted that hosting the festival reflects the UAE’s deep commitment to empowering People of Determination and fostering an inclusive sporting environment that allows them to thrive in various marine disciplines.
Al Suwaidi noted that the initiative is part of broader efforts to support marine activities for People of Determination through specialized programs designed to develop their skills and inspire creativity.
Participants expressed their joy at taking part in the event, noting that such platforms play a vital role in enhancing their sporting abilities and strengthening their visibility in competitive sports.
