Abu Dhabi: The National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) has welcomed a high-level delegation from the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions, headquartered in Doha, led by Sultan bin Hassan Al Jamali, Secretary-General of the Network.
The visit comes as part of continuous efforts to deepen collaboration, exchange expertise, and strengthen joint initiatives in advancing human rights across the Arab region. During the meeting, both sides explored avenues of cooperation aimed at building stronger institutional capacities and promoting best practices in safeguarding human rights.
The discussions also underscored the importance of collective regional action in addressing common challenges and supporting sustainable development rooted in justice, dignity, and equality.
Maqsoud Kruse, Chairman of the NHRI, emphasized the importance of the visit in reinforcing regional partnerships. Maqsoud Kruse stated that, “This visit represents an important step towards strengthening cooperation and complementarity between national human rights institutions across the region. It supports the exchange of best practices and the alignment of joint efforts to protect rights and uphold human dignity.”
Maqsoud Kruse added that enhancing coordination at the regional level is a key pillar for achieving progress, not only in advancing human rights but also in reinforcing the foundations of justice, inclusivity, and equality for all.
The visit reflects NHRI’s strong commitment to fostering meaningful dialogue, building bridges with regional institutions, and encouraging the transfer of knowledge and expertise. By working closely with the Arab Network, NHRI continues to play an active role in advancing human rights frameworks, ensuring that regional cooperation remains at the core of collective Arab efforts to safeguard fundamental freedoms and human dignity.
