Al Ain: The Zayed Authority for People of Determination has organized a major national event titled Nations March in Al Ain to mark the UAE’s 54th Union Day, bringing together thousands in a powerful display of unity and pride.
Held as part of the Year of Community initiatives and themed 54 Million Steps for the Nation, the event drew more than 16,000 participants from diverse segments of society, forming a national scene that reflected deep-rooted belonging and patriotic spirit.

The march opened with a remarkable gesture as participants raised a 1,200-meter UAE flag, handcrafted by 27 People of Determination from the Authority’s vocational rehabilitation workshops in Al Ain. The initiative highlighted their resilience and highlighted their vital role as contributors to the nation’s progress.
Along the 2.5-kilometer route, participants collectively logged over 54 million steps, an average of 3,375 steps each, symbolizing the UAE’s inclusive vision and its commitment to empowering every individual. Mounted units, the Abu Dhabi Police Band, national service recruits, senior citizens, students and representatives from government and private organizations joined the march, reinforcing community cohesion and enriching the patriotic atmosphere.
Abdullah Abdulalee Al Humaidan, Director-General of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, said the march embodied loyalty and belonging, reaffirming the leadership’s confidence in the abilities of People of Determination. Al Humaidan noted that the handcrafted flag represented their active role in nation-building and the Authority’s dedication to inclusive and sustainable initiatives.

Moza Al Salami, Director of Abu Dhabi Autism Center, said People of Determination were not only creating the 1,200-meter flag but lifting it with pride and heart. Al Salami said the event reflected the values of unity and solidarity, and highlighted their role as contributors, innovators and sources of inspiration.
The event received primary support from First Abu Dhabi Bank, along with strategic partners including Al Ain City Municipality, the Department of Municipalities and Transport, Al Baddad Construction, Al Masaood Equipment Rental, AM Industries, Al Ain Water and Al Fardan Exchange. Additional support came from several entities that contributed to the event’s smooth execution.
Operational support was provided by national organizations including Abu Dhabi Police, the Integrated Transport Centre, Civil Defense Authority, Emirates Falcons Aviation, Emirates Foundation – Sanad, Military Secondary Schools and Fann Hospitality Services, demonstrating strong collaboration between government and private sector partners.
Nations March concluded with a unifying scene beneath the UAE flag, symbolising loyalty, belonging and the enduring determination that continues to drive the nation’s journey forward.
