Abu Dhabi: The 3rd International Conference on Autism Research Advancements is set to begin on April 19 at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center, running for four days.
Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO), the event reinforces the UAE’s leadership in championing humanitarian and scientific initiatives for individuals with autism.
The high-profile conference is co-organised by ZHO, ADNOC, Lotus Holistic Center – Abu Dhabi, and Fatima College of Health Sciences. It coincides with World Autism Month and highlights the UAE’s commitment to advancing care, rehabilitation, and inclusion for people of determination.
Bringing together experts, practitioners, researchers, and families from around the globe, the event will highlight the latest research, best practices, and innovations in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of autism spectrum disorder.
Abdulla Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of ZHO, noted that the event reflects the organization’s dedication to raising awareness and improving the lives of individuals with autism. Abdulla Al Humaidan stated that, “Innovation in care and rehabilitation methods opens new horizons for enhancing the quality of life for people of determination and their families.”

Dr. Ghuwaya Al Neyadi, Senior Vice President of Medical Services and Quality of Life at ADNOC, emphasized the importance of partnerships in delivering meaningful community impact. Dr. Al Neyadi commented that, “ADNOC is proud to support initiatives that empower individuals and enhance wellbeing, in line with our commitment to social responsibility.”
Amina Al Heidan, Head of Lotus Holistic Center, expressed pride in the collaboration and said the conference delivers a vital platform for knowledge-sharing and advancing evidence-based practices. Amina Al Heidan remarked that, “The event’s timing during Autism Awareness Month adds further significance to our joint mission of supporting individuals with autism through science and compassion.”
The conference program includes a wide range of scientific sessions and workshops concentrating on genetic and neurological factors, the microbiome, early diagnosis, behavioral therapies, educational inclusion, nutrition, physical activity, and the use of artificial intelligence in autism care.
Specialized workshops will cover nutritional intervention, speech and occupational therapy, and early developmental support, along with open discussions involving families of individuals with autism.
International experts from leading institutions including UAE University, King Saud University, the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), and universities in the US, Canada, Europe, and the Arab world will present the latest findings and participate in collaborative panels.
The conference aims to drive forward research, empower families, and promote inclusive practices in education, employment, and society aligning with the UAE’s vision for a more cohesive and compassionate future.
