Dubai: Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ePointZero, a global investment platform under the International Holding Company (IHC), to explore new power generation initiatives and accelerate the UAE’s clean energy transformation.
As part of the collaboration, both entities will work together to develop projects under EtihadWE’s Self-Generation Program, covering gas, renewable energy, and battery storage solutions. The move aims to expand EtihadWE’s energy portfolio while strengthening the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of the regional power network.
Under the MoU, EtihadWE and ePointZero will jointly evaluate potential sites, investment models, and financing frameworks. ePointZero and its affiliated companies may also contribute advanced technologies, engineering expertise, and specialized equipment to support project execution and ensure seamless integration with the national grid.

Eng. Yousif Ahmed Al Ali, CEO of EtihadWE, said the agreement marks a significant step toward advancing a more reliable and sustainable power system across the Emirates, adding that the collaboration will help enhance efficiency, drive decarbonization, and deliver long-term energy stability.
Mohamed Hesham, CEO of ePointZero, emphasized that the partnership will enable the creation of a new model for integrating generation, storage, and transmission, ultimately boosting energy resilience and supporting sustainable growth across communities.
The initiatives will be led by EtihadWE’s subsidiary, Emirates Utilities Development Company (EUDC), which oversees major infrastructure projects across the region. Following feasibility assessments and due diligence, the cooperation may advance to a Joint Development Agreement, solidifying investment commitments and outlining the implementation roadmap.
