Dubai: The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), in collaboration with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) and Keeta Drone, has launched a smart and sustainable drone delivery route in the Nad Al Sheba area, marking a groundbreaking step in redefining urban logistics in Dubai.
The new service enables drones to deliver food orders from restaurants and cafés at Nad Al Sheba Avenue Mall directly to residents, with deliveries landing at the Nad Al Sheba Grand Mosque. The launch marks a significant milestone in Dubai’s strategy to strengthen its position as an international hub for smart transportation and advanced aerial logistics services.

His Excellency Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of DCAA, officially inaugurated the route by overseeing the first drone delivery in Nad Al Sheba, in the presence of senior officials, including HE Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of IACAD; HE Badr Bu Hanad, Director General of Dubai Silicon Oasis; and HE Sultan Butti bin Mejren, along with Sayed Ismail Mohammed Al Hashmi, Acting Executive Director of the Corporate Support Services Sector in Dubai Municipality.
HE Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of the DCAA, stated that, “This initiative reflects Dubai’s leadership in embracing innovation that enhances everyday life. Keeta Drone has pioneered this technology, and we look forward to seeing drone delivery become an everyday reality across the city. By enabling smart delivery corridors, we are shaping a sustainable and technology-driven future for Dubai.”
HE Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of IACAD, highlighted the initiative as a qualitative step in the path of integration between the public and private sectors to support Dubai’s smart transformation goals. Al Muhairi added that selecting Nad Al Sheba Grand Mosque as the launch site reflects a forward-looking vision that extends the role of mosques in sustainable community development, emphasizing the balance between tradition and technological innovation.

Currently, Keeta Drone operates four routes within Dubai Silicon Oasis, with the Nad Al Sheba route serving as a key expansion that connects residential and commercial areas through fast, contactless, and eco-friendly deliveries. Operated under DCAA’s regulatory framework, the initiative showcases how public-private partnerships can advance smart city logistics while upholding stringent safety standards.
Junwei Yang, General Manager of Keeta Drone, expressed gratitude for the support of the DCAA and IACAD, noting that, “This milestone marks the beginning of our commercial operations and the expansion of drone delivery routes across Dubai’s communities. This route represents not just technological progress, but also Dubai’s vision for smarter, faster, and greener cities.”
