Initially available in Arabic and English, the platform will soon expand to include Hindi, Urdu, and Malayalam, ensuring broader access to knowledge resources and supporting ADAFSA’s vision of promoting global connectivity and knowledge exchange.
Speaking about the launch, Dr. Sayed Essam Al Hashmi, Acting Executive Director of the Development and Innovation Sector at ADAFSA, said the initiative embodies the UAE’s vision to harness innovation and technology in advancing vital sectors.
Dr. Al Hashmi remarked that, “The launch of the Ghars Educational Platform reflects the UAE’s vision of leveraging innovation and technology to advance key sectors. It embodies ADAFSA’s commitment to strengthening applied knowledge and building a culture of innovation in agriculture and food systems.”
Dr. Al Hashmi added that the platform is flexible, interactive, and user-focused, offering intelligent tools and specialised advisory services that enhance sectoral readiness, sustainability, and food security objectives.
The Ghars platform provides a comprehensive suite of learning and advisory services, including live training courses, a dynamic digital library, remote consultations, and personalised smart alerts. It also offers interactive features such as a plant disease symptom identifier, AI-powered chatbot, and return-on-investment calculators enhancing user experience and operational efficiency.

Aligned with the Plant the Emirates Program, the initiative promotes home gardening, sustainable farming practices, and resource efficiency, encouraging users to adopt innovative methods that optimise inputs and minimise environmental impact.
The platform’s expanding digital library includes educational videos, infographics, case studies, and guidance documents, providing a rich repository of knowledge for both professional and aspiring farmers.
Through its remote advisory feature, users can interact directly with ADAFSA experts in agricultural resource management, modern technologies, and plant and animal health, further supporting the development of a sustainable, knowledge-based agricultural ecosystem across Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
ADAFSA invites all individuals interested in agriculture, livestock, and food sectors to visit its pavilion at Global Food Week 2025 and explore the Ghars Educational Platform, a transformative step that reinforces Abu Dhabi’s leadership in digital innovation and sustainability.
