If you are a Winnie the Pooh fan, then you would have at least once in your life wished to live like the honey-loving bear in a forest home and here is a chance for you to fulfil that dream!
It’s true! A cottage which is inspired from the fictional land of the Hundred Acre Wood is now available for rent in England to celebrate the 95th-anniversary of the creation of Winnie the Pooh by writer A. A. Milne.
Mr. Kim Raymond, the illustrator of Pooh for the last 40 years, is hosting two one-night stays at the “Bearbnb,” which is a custom-built tiny home. The cottage, a partnership between Disney and Airbnb, was designed in East Sussex’s Ashdown Forest.
“The ‘Bearbnb’ is a unique experience that brings the charm of Pooh to life for fans, whilst honouring the original adventures that have been so important to many people for 95 years,” Mr. Raymond said.
The cottage, which looks similar to Pooh’s treehouse, sleeps four guests. The visitors can find memorable touches inside and out of the cottage. The one-room house looks like it is built into a tree with the “Mr. Sanders” sign above the door on the outside. The cupboards inside the cottage are filled with “Hunny pots.”
Further, the visitors will be taken on a tour in the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex which was the inspiration for books’ wood setting. The guests can play “Poohsticks on the iconic Poohsticks Bridge” and enjoy delicious “Hunny-inspired meals.” Mr. Raymond said that he was inspired by the original depictions in the book by E. H. Shepard in designing the house and its interior.
The news release from Airbnb states that the cottage is stocked with yoga mats, journals and throw blankets to motivate visitors to embrace their natural surroundings and live like Pooh, “who is famous for going at his own pace.”
The cottage which charges $130 for single-night stay has laid out certain rules also, which permits “multiple naps” and encourage snacks of “a little something” at 11 AM., the time Pooh famously took his refreshment.
