Dubai: One of the leading telecom operators in the United Arab Emirates, du, formerly known as Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC) has joined organizations across the globe to celebrate the World Youth Skills Day.
WORLD YOUTH SKILLS DAY
Established by the United Nations (UN) in 2014, World Youth Skills Day is celebrated every year on the 15th of July to highlight the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, work and entrepreneurship.
Marking the occasion, du Youth Council provided a unique opportunity to a group of talented high school graduates to gain skills and learn more about the telecommunications sector at its innovative new HQ in Dubai Hills.
As part of the exclusive program, a group of UAE students were invited to partner with du employees in several departments while they carry out their daily responsibilities.

The Council also organized a high-quality learning environment for students with a focus on skills development, formal training and practical work experience.
Du strives to play an important role in engaging and equipping the future workforce for dynamic skill-demands by companies, organizations and communities.
On World Youth Skills Day, du Youth Council also reiterated its commitment to empowering Emirati youth within the organization to realize their professional potential and build a talent pipeline that fosters the economic imperatives of the UAE’s knowledge-based economy through ICT.
