Abu Dhabi: The UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, gave an overview of some innovative concepts and environmental projects that support the UAE’s efforts to encourage innovation in this field and advance sustainability and the preservation of natural resources.
This occurred during His Highness’s World Environment Day event at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi. There, His Highness welcomed a group of businesspeople, young people, and government representatives tasked with putting new ideas and projects into action in sustainability and environmental protection.
His Highness heard the leaders of these efforts explain the significance of these projects, the potential for their development and large-scale implementation, and the outcomes they have produced.
The President highlighted the significance of these creative approaches in bringing attention to the need to protect environmental resources to create a more affluent and sustainable future. He said that attempts to advance environmental protection against the obstacles it encounters are inspired by the activities of environmental leaders, both in the UAE and globally.
Sheikh Mohamed Al Nahyan emphasized that while promoting a better knowledge of individuals’ and communities’ role in addressing climate change, the UAE is eager to benefit from all contributions and initiatives in this respect.
His Highness emphasized that protecting the environment and its resources is everyone’s duty, both locally and internationally.
The President stated that through successful programs and initiatives that will shape a better future for all peoples worldwide, the UAE continues to work with international partners to achieve goals in this area and further activate the historic UAE Consensus that came about as a result of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).
