Abu Dhabi: Winners of the “UAE Threads” Textiles Competition by Abu Dhabi University (ADU) were recently revealed to public by the Institute.

The latest iteration of the competition witnessed participation from 8 teams consisting of 26 students from the College of Engineering (CoE), Interior Design program at ADU.

The competition which was hosted in partnership with its Platinum Sponsor Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC) along with the Gold Sponsor The Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi, accommodated 3 main categories in contention which focused on Furniture and Artwork inspired by the UAE Heritage and EXPO 2020.

Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Sultan Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi National Hotels, Mr. Charalampos Mylonas, Deputy CEO of ADNIC and Mr. Christian Hoehn, General Manager of The Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi attended the ceremony.

Designs and Creative Projects by teams in the competition were presented in front of the Jury members and Attendees during the event.

The Winners of the “UAE Threads” Textiles Competition were;

1^st Prize: Dana Aqab, Lujain Al Musawa and Fatima Al Zabidi

2^nd Prize: Rajaa Mahmoud, Aya Alfaiadh, Hesa Alrayes and Noor Barasheed

3^rd Prize: Layal Ayoub, Noor Hammad and Amal El Ansari

4^th Prize: Sallam Qora’an, Meera Zreik Farhat, Sarah Sami and Noor Aldarwich

Sponsors and Jury members of the competition were presented with appreciation awards at the event.
