Moscow: Alexey Fursin, Minister of Moscow Government and Head of the Moscow Department of Culture, has commended the UAE’s strong commitment to promoting its culture on the global stage. Speaking at the recently concluded Moscow International Film Festival, Fursin emphasized the growing cultural and cinematic ties between Russia and the UAE.
Fursin highlighted the UAE’s rapid advancements in culture and cinema, pointing to the establishment of film festivals, cultural centres, and world-class production facilities. He remarked that the UAE’s participation in the Moscow film week is a clear indication of the deepening relationship between the two nations.
The Minister expressed admiration for the UAE’s vibrant cultural and cinematic movement, noting that Emirati filmmakers are gaining international recognition for their unique blend of tradition and modernity. He praised the UAE’s dedication to nurturing its creative industries and highlighted the mutual respect shared between Russia and the UAE for each other’s cultural heritage.
Looking forward, Fursin outlined new initiatives for cultural collaboration, including joint film productions, hosting joint cultural festivals, and expanding educational exchange programmes. He also expressed strong interest in producing a joint Emirati-Russian film that would symbolize the growing creative synergy between the two countries.
The Moscow International Film Festival, held from 23rd to 28th August, is one of the largest cultural events in Russia, featuring participation from over 40 countries. The event included screenings of more than 300 films, along with workshops and training sessions led by industry experts.
