Brussels (Capital of Belgium): Omar Al Marzouqi, a 21-year-old show jumper from the UAE, claimed victory at the prestigious World Show Jumping Championship for Stallions, held as part of the World Championship for 5-, 6-, and 7-year-old show jumpers in Lanaken, Belgium.
Riding Enjoy de la Mure, owned by Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Al Marzouqi outperformed some of the world’s top riders during the first and second legs of the competition on Thursday and Friday.
Al Marzouqi expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, for his support of equestrian sports in the UAE, as well as to H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, for his encouragement of show jumping riders.
He also acknowledged Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy and owner of Al Shira’aa Stables, for her vital support in helping UAE riders achieve international success.
