Abu Dhabi: A leading supplier of sustainable water solutions, Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSSC) has signed an exclusive Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Uzsuvtaminot JSC, a significant player in enhancing the management of water resources in the Republic of Uzbekistan to build a wastewater treatment facility in the nation’s capital, Tashkent.
When finished, the facility will be the biggest wastewater treatment plant in the nation, with a capacity of 1.5 million cubic meters per day, enough to service 2.3 million+ people.
ADSSC and Uzsuvtaminot JSC held a special event in Tashkent, Uzbekistan to formally sign the MoA. The agreement to formalize the deal was signed by Eng. Ahmed Al Shamsi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ADSSC, and Mr. Sakhib Saifnazarov, Chairman of Uzsuvtaminot.

The deal intends to create a centralized wastewater treatment facility that enhances the quality of life, promotes health and wellness, and keeps up with the increasing population in Tashkent that has undergone economic progress. According to its terms, Uzsuvtaminot JSC will be in charge of providing the land, the effluent facilities, and the electricity facilities, while ADSSC and its partners will be in charge of funding, building, and operating the plant.
The 3 current wastewater treatment facilities, which are situated in Boszu, Salar, and Bektimir with a combined daily capacity of 1.5 million cubic meters, will be replaced by the new plant. The facility will provide services to an estimated 2.3 million residents of a 435 sq km area of Tashkent and its vicinities, as well as create various employment prospects for the neighborhood.

The signing of this landmark MoA demonstrates the common goals of the UAE and Uzbekistan to enhance bilateral cooperation in diverse fields. The project aligns with Uzsuvtaminot’s efforts to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise between the UAE national entities and their international counterparts to support the global transition to a greener and more sustainable development model.
