Within just 15 days of its launch, the campaign has received an astounding &139 million in total contributions. The UAE’s culture of generosity and giving has been showcased once again as 87,000 major contributors, including individuals, businesses, and public and private sector institutions, came forward to donate a generous sum towards the “1 Billion Meals Endowment” campaign. The “1 Billion Meals Endowment” campaign is a culmination of the successful food aid drives launched over the past three years under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The first of these was the “10 Million Meals” campaign in Ramadan 2020, which provided vital support to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the UAE. The following year, the “100 Million Meals” campaign was launched in Ramadan 2021, making it the largest regional food support drive, serving 20 countries across the Arab region, Africa, and Asia.
