Abu Dhabi: The UAE welcomed the International Court of Justice’s ruling to impose further interim sanctions on Israel, requiring an immediate halt of military activities in the Rafah governorate and an improvement in the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
The UAE is committed to achieving an early ceasefire, safeguarding civilians, preventing additional casualties, and stopping the escalation of violence in all areas of the Occupied Palestinian Territory, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized.
In addition, the Ministry underscored the significance of mitigating the grave and worsening humanitarian crisis that Gaza’s civilian population is experiencing as a result of Israel’s ongoing attack against the Strip.
The Ministry reaffirmed how important it is to make sure that relief and humanitarian aid reaches the Gaza Strip quickly, sustainably, and without hindrance. In this context, it emphasized how crucial the Court’s ruling was about the need to maintain the Rafah Crossing open so that humanitarian relief can enter the country widely and unhindered.
The Ministry emphasized that the UAE is continuing to cooperate with its international partners with never-before-seen tenacity to step up efforts to guarantee the delivery and distribution of aid via all channels. Additionally, this entails the safe delivery of aid via land, sea, and air to help alleviate the dire humanitarian conditions that the Gaza Strip’s population is facing as a result of the ongoing conflict.
The Ministry restated the UAE’s steadfast appeal to the international community to step up regional and global efforts to bring about peace and the two-state solution.
The Ministry emphasized that, in line with the resolutions of international legitimacy, the UAE is unwavering in its commitment to creating an independent sovereign Palestinian State, protecting the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and bolstering peace and justice.
