Rabat, Morocco: The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has participated in the ICESCO Forum for Research Centres, which was conducted by the Strategic Foresight Centre of the Islamic World Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ICESCO) at the organization’s headquarters in Rabat, Morocco.
Prof. Ahmed Ali Murad, Associate Provost for Research at UAEU, presented a Research Paper titled “The Role of Research Centers in Achieving the National Agenda.” The Research Paper discussed the University’s Research Centres in order to achieve national objectives and national agendas.

Prof. Murad remarked that the UAEU has invested in building infrastructure to support fundamental transformations in research outputs. Modern Experimental, Computational, and Information Technology facilities are available at the UAEU.
Health and Medical Sciences, Space Science and Technology, Water, Energy, Food and Agricultural Sustainability, Digital Technology and Security, Material Science and Manufacturing, Economics, and Emerging Humanities, Social, and Economic issues were among the six major research themes identified in the research and innovation strategy for the years 2023 to 2026.

The Professor also explained that the UAEU Research Centres were developed based on national innovation priorities, including Renewable Energy, Health, Water, Mobility, Education, Technology, and Space.
Dr. Murad stressed that the UAEU Research Centres work to reduce the gap between the academic and business communities locally, regionally, and internationally. Research Centres also foster innovation and creativity and encourage the development of patents.
