Al Ain: The oldest university in the country, the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has once again gained international accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges’ (WASC) Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), for 10 years.
Mr. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), lauded the faculty and staff of the university for the achievement.
CONSTANT IMPROVEMENT
The final review report by WSCUC praised the University for its strong, capable, and forward-looking senior administrative and academic leadership, capacity to anticipate and plan for the future, and embrace of principles and methods that lead to continuous enhancement of academic programs and student learning outcomes.
The report further appreciated the UAEU’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which included the rapid provision of alternative teaching and learning technologies.
The UAEU Chancellor emphasized the enormous value added to the UAEU by the WSCUC accreditation process and expressed his faith in the UAEU community’s desire and ability to respond to the WSCUC report’s recommendations for improvement.
“This result demonstrates that the UAEU not only adheres to international accreditation standards but strives to exceed them. It testifies that we provide an environment that enables educational excellence, fosters research productivity, and ensures operational effectiveness,” Mr. Nusseibeh observed.
