Dubai: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, visited the 16th edition of Art Dubai, a major international platform for art and artists from the Middle East and the Global South being held at Madinat Jumeirah from March 1st o 5th 2023.
The Prime Minister emphasised the UAE’s dedication to fostering creativity and assisting the development of artistic talent from all over the world. Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum stated that the nation’s top-notch infrastructure has made it a popular choice for creatives from across the world to demonstrate their artistic creativity at important events that bring tourists from all over the world.
The art fair is one of the main attractions of the Dubai Art Season, a thorough yearly artistic festival held in February and March by Dubai Culture to honour the emirate’s expanding creative and cultural scene. Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum was informed about the exhibition’s crucial contribution to securing Dubai’s status as a premier centre of culture and the arts, as well as the promotion of cooperation with local, regional, and international art institutions and top artists, throughout the tour.

The extensive schedule for this year, which includes a number of seminars, over 50 presentations, and a varied educational programme, was also explained to the Ruler of Dubai. The 16th edition of Art Dubai’s flagship Global Art Forum, the first Christie’s Art+Tech summit in the Middle East, a series of Modern and Collector talks created in partnership with Dubai Collection, and a new event created in collaboration with the Art Business Conference are among this year’s highlights.
The number of participating galleries has significantly increased for Art Dubai 2023. More than 130 contemporary, modern, and digital gallery displays from six continents are included in this year’s festival. Art Dubai features galleries from more than 40 countries across four main sections which are Contemporary, Modern, Bawwaba (meaning gateway in Arabic), and Art Dubai Digital, including 24 Dubai-based galleries, the largest number to date, reflecting Dubai’s thriving artistic ecosystem. The event contributes to Dubai’s vision of consolidating its status as a global hub for culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent.
