Abu Dhabi: In line with his vision to improve the knowledge and education standards in the country, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE has allocated $1.63 million as grant to procure a wide variety of books, and reference and educational materials from the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF).
The 31st Edition of ADIBF is currently ongoing at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The event will run till 29th of May 2022.
The books and materials which are purchased under the grant will be shared with school libraries across the country to support the publishing and education sectors by enriching libraries with useful reference works, empowering students of all levels to pursue knowledge and education.
This generous grant from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan offers a strong foundation to continue our efforts to keep the local and Arab publishing market globally competitive.
Dr. Ali Bin Tamim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), part of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), remarked about the decision by the UAE President.

Dr. Tamim elaborated that, “It will also play an effective role in advancing knowledge and culture in the UAE, providing students with a wide variety of books and reference materials from the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. Through this, the next generation’s increased accessibility to content will inspire their enthusiasm for knowledge and learning, while enhancing their imagination, innovation and creativity.”
