Abu Dhabi: The UAE Pass, a digital identity document for UAE residents, is completely secure, according to the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA). The authority responded to reports on social media about potential fraud involving the UAE Pass app. The app is used by UAE government departments and other institutions to upload, verify, and share official documents.
TDRA reminded users via the X platform to exercise caution when receiving notifications or login requests from UAE Pass. Users should not grant unauthorized access to their accounts and should carefully verify links before clicking.
As part of enhancing digital services, all government services in the UAE are being linked to UAE Pass. Ministries and government offices are mandating the use of UAE Pass for their services. Only with an e-signature provided through UAE Pass will services be accessible. Services such as visa stamping, renewal, renting a property, renewing rental contracts, and obtaining water and electricity connections are all linked to UAE Pass. Therefore, both residents and expatriates must obtain UAE Pass.
UAE Pass offers access to around 5,000 services, including Emirates ID, visa applications and renewals, property rentals, rental contract attestations and renewals, vehicle registration, government service fee payments, and starting a business. Users can complete these transactions independently 24/7, without relying on government offices or typing centers.
Preventing Misuse
UAE Pass cannot be misused by others. To access any government service through UAE Pass, the relevant department will send a code to the individual’s mobile device, which must be entered to open the site.
