Abu Dhabi: The UAE has unveiled the “UAE National Orchestra,” a landmark initiative symbolizing the nation’s dedication to the arts. The initiative was launched under the esteemed patronage of HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The visionary project underscores the role of music in shaping cultural identity, fostering unity, and building bridges between communities worldwide.
Blending the rich musical heritage with global contemporary styles, the UAE National Orchestra is set to become a beacon of artistic innovation and a showcase of diverse creative talents.

The initiative is headed by Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State and Chairperson of the UAE National Orchestra Board. Al Kaabi remarked that, “Through the UAE National Orchestra, we aim to elevate our cultural identity, inspire creativity, and strengthen ties with global artistic communities. The orchestra will stand as a testament to the UAE’s dedication to promoting tolerance, coexistence, and cultural exchange.”
The Board of Directors comprises distinguished figures and experts in cultural, artistic and academic fields, including Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education; Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi, Minister of Culture; Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi; Zaki Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to the UAE President; Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation; Samira Murshid Al Rumaithi, Secretary-General of the Presidential Protocol and Strategic Narrative; Huda Alkhamis-Kanoo, Founder of Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation; Hamad Abdullah Al Zaabi, Director-General of the National Projects Office; Ali Obaid Al Hefaiti, Director-General of Fujairah Fine Arts Academy; Peng Xiao, Group CEO of G42; and Artist Naseer Shamma, Founder of the Arab Oud House and UNESCO Artist for Peace.
The UAE National Orchestra will soon conduct auditions to recruit talented musicians and singers from diverse artistic backgrounds, with a particular focus on nurturing Emirati talent.
Selected artists will be offered full-time employment with competitive incentives, ensuring they can contribute wholeheartedly to this cultural endeavor.
Aspiring musicians can apply through the official website, by submitting their applications and a sample recording of their performance. The application deadline is 26th January 2025.
