Abu Dhabi: The UAE Ministry of Interior has officially launched the process to enroll Emirati citizens into the US ‘Global Entry’ program.
The development follows an agreement signed between the UAE and the United States, represented by the UAE Ministry of Interior and the US Department of Homeland Security, during President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s state visit to the United States in September.
The ‘Global Entry’ program, part of US border protection efforts, provides expedited entry for UAE citizens visiting the United States for tourism, business, or personal reasons. Enrolled Emiratis can access designated Global Entry transit gates at over 75 US airports, enhancing their travel experience and reducing wait times.

The significant move underscores the strong diplomatic ties and mutual respect between the UAE and the US, acknowledging the UAE’s trusted international standing. To participate, UAE citizens must apply through the official website and undergo a background security check. Participants will still require a valid entry visa for the US but will benefit from automated verification processes that simplify entry and reduce paperwork.
The program represents a significant step forward in UAE-US relations, streamlining travel procedures and fostering smoother connections between the two nations.
