Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has participated in an International Security Alliance (ISA) operation that has resulted in one of the largest drug seizures worldwide.
The joint anti-narcotics campaign, conducted in cooperation with 25 countries and several international police organizations, has led to the confiscation of more than 822 tons of illicit drugs with an estimated street value of $2.9 billion (AED 10.65 billion).
The operation, which took place over two months, has been the second coordinated effort by ISA conducted by air, sea, and land. Authorities confirmed that 12,564 suspects linked to transnational criminal groups have been arrested across different regions.
Member states of the alliance that participated include the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Spain, Morocco, France, the Netherlands, Slovakia, and Italy.

Countries from the American Police Organisation (Ameripol) such as Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Venezuela also contributed. Europol members Croatia and Belgium, along with Jordan, Nepal, and the Maldives, were also active participants.
The large-scale cooperation has improved intelligence gathering on emerging criminal networks and provided valuable insights into evolving drug trafficking methods. It has also strengthened bilateral relations between specialized experts, enhanced field coordination, and established proactive mechanisms to disrupt the global narcotics trade.
The International Security Alliance, founded in 2017 by France and the UAE, serves as a global framework for addressing common security challenges. Its core objectives include combating transnational organized crime while promoting both strategic and operational collaboration among members.
Officials have highlighted that the latest results not only demonstrate the effectiveness of coordinated action but also reinforce the UAE’s position as a key contributor to shaping international security agendas. Through its involvement in ISA, the UAE has continued to expand its global partnerships and support proactive measures against cross-border threats.
