Dubai: The UAE government announced the recipients of the UAE Innovates Award at the UAE Innovates 2023 closing ceremony.
UAE Innovates is the largest national event of its kind, taking place throughout the entire month of February 2023 in all seven emirates. Its objectives are to strengthen the innovation culture, increase community involvement, recognise local innovators, and use their innovations to enhance the quality of life.
Ten government organisations that had given out awards for innovative initiatives in the third UAE Innovates Award edition were present at the event’s concluding ceremony. The most significant technological advancements on a local and national level were honoured in seven key categories. Almost 400 projects were chosen to become the winning innovations.

The winners for 2023 are the Ministry of Interior and the Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD) in the category for the Most Innovative Disruptive Project; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Most and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in the category for the Most Innovative Automated Government Procedure; the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and the Digital Government Regulatory Authority in the category for the Most Innovative Digital Transformation; and the Ministry of Interior and the Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD) in the category for the Most Innovative The prize for the most creative use of resources was won by Dubai Airports.
Ms. Huda Al Hashimi, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, executives from the awarding organisations, members of the UAE executive councils, and partners from UAE Innovation Month all attended the awards ceremony.

Ms. Al Hashimi stated that, “UAE Innovates represents the largest annual event of its kind to celebrate innovation and innovators, which embodies the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to embed a culture of innovation within government to enhance future readiness. It reflects the government’s approach to adopting innovation as a foundation for development.”
