Dubai: The first platform in the region to monitor and trace pharmaceutical products, the national drug tracking system “Tatmeen,” has been launched by the UAE. The Department of Health-Abu Dhabi, the Dubai Health Authority, and the Ministry of Health and Prevention showcased the cutting-edge platform at Arab Health 2023. With the goal of improving the trustworthiness of pharmaceutical supply chains, “Tatmeen” offers electronic tracking services for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
By connecting a seamless electronic network between manufacturers, distributors, pharmacies, and customers, the platform will improve control over all medications in the nation. The platform will also establish the UAE as a renowned global innovation in the security of the pharmaceutical supply chain.
The “Tatmeen” platform was created as part of the Ministry’s attempts to undergo digital transformation and in accordance with the government’s directions to digitise essential services, according to Mr. Ahmed Ali Al Dashti, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Support Services Sector.

The platform makes use of cutting-edge technology and high-tech tools to provide the general public with comprehensive health and pharmaceutical services and to make it possible to track drug products throughout the entire supply chain on a single digital platform.
Since its operational launch, the “Tatmeen” platform has produced impressive results, including the tracking and tracing of 1.2 million drug packages throughout the UAE. Over 3,500 committed staff members of the platform work to safeguard the medical supply chain and uphold strict health and safety guidelines. Over the past two years, the platform has trained 1,200 people and completed 250 hours of training, drawing in 1,760 partners eager to work together and take advantage of its advantages.
A significant step in the government’s efforts to digitise important projects and enhance health services was the launch of “Tatmeen” in 2020. The platform makes use of cutting-edge technology to deliver reliable information on medications and guarantee the security of pharmaceutical and medical products.
