Abu Dhabi: UAE Hajj registration for 2025 has officially opened today (19th September). UAE citizens wishing to perform Hajj can register until 30th September, according to authorities. Registration can be completed through the smart app or the website of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat (Awqaf UAE).
Key Conditions:
- Applicants must be UAE citizens aged 12 and above.
- They must not have performed Hajj in the past five seasons.
- Priority will be given to first-time pilgrims, people of determination, those with chronic illnesses, the elderly, and their relatives or companions.
For next year’s Hajj, 6,228 slots have been allocated to the UAE by Saudi Hajj authorities. Awqaf UAE, in cooperation with Saudi officials, will provide Hajj permits and ‘Nusuk’ cards to pilgrims, ensuring access to medical, legal, and logistical services. Regular assessments of Hajj campaigns and associated teams will be conducted to ensure compliance with the outlined standards.
Awareness programs will be launched in the coming months to prepare the country’s pilgrims. Additionally, dedicated hotlines will be available for the duration of the pilgrimage season. Reports indicate that approximately 1.8 million pilgrims performed Hajj this year, with 1.6 million coming from outside Saudi Arabia.
UAE Hajj Permits for Citizens Only
Typically, Hajj permits in the UAE are issued exclusively to Emirati citizens. Expatriates must utilize their home countries’ Hajj quotas and follow the respective procedures. Licensed tour operators, whose list is available on the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments’ website, usually handle Hajj travel arrangements. These operators offer comprehensive packages that cover visa fees, accommodation, transport, and meals.
