Dubai: The UAE family visa granting rules have been restructured to make visas more easily available, now based on the applicant’s salary, regardless of job sector or position. Individuals earning a monthly salary of AED 3,000 with provided accommodation can now bring their families to the UAE.
The sponsor must cover the cost of accommodation. Those earning AED 4,000 (approximately INR 91,000) with accommodation can bring their family without the need for additional sponsorship support.
If the father is employed in the UAE, the mother will not be eligible to sponsor the children. The children must be brought under the father’s visa. The children will receive a residency visa, which does not permit them to work.
Officials and entrepreneurs are also allowed to apply for family visas. The visa will be granted to the wife, sons under 18 years old, and unmarried daughters under the sponsorship of the head of the family. However, male children studying in the UAE will receive a visa valid for one year, which can be renewed until the completion of their studies.
When transitioning from a temporary visa to a permanent dependent visa, the sponsorship transfer must be completed within two months from the date the family arrives in the country. The family can stay in the country as long as the sponsor’s visa is valid. For those above 18 years old, a medical certificate is required to complete the visa procedures.
