Abu Dhabi: The UAE Cybersecurity Council has announced the completion of another round of specialised training courses within the Cyber Sniper initiative. This comprehensive programme, launched last year, is designed to develop the knowledge and skills of UAE government employees in cybersecurity, a rapidly evolving field.
The initiative, created in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) and key international cybersecurity partners such as SANS, EC-Council, Offsec, and CyberGate Defense, is a cornerstone of the UAE’s strategy to secure its digital infrastructure. By supporting a secure digital transformation, the programme aims to increase the readiness of government entities to detect and thwart emerging cyber threats.
Participants received training in ethical hacking and cybersecurity protocols, gaining practical skills to identify cyber-attack techniques and test systems for vulnerabilities. The training enhances their ability to safeguard the nation’s critical infrastructure.
Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, highlighted the importance of this initiative. He stated, “The Cyber Sniper initiative is vital in building a strong national workforce capable of protecting the country’s critical infrastructure and effectively countering cyber threats.”
Aligned with the UAE’s We the UAE 2031 vision, the Cyber Sniper programme plays a key role in strengthening the country’s digital security and improving the capabilities of government agencies to handle future cyber challenges.
