Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reaffirmed its support for global humanitarian efforts by pledging $200,000 for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Refugee Program for 2025. The statement was made during the annual UNHCR Pledging Conference, where nations gather to contribute financially to the organization’s humanitarian programs.
Filippo Grandi, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, praised the UAE’s consistent support and generosity, highlighting its role in addressing the challenges refugees face worldwide. Filippo Grandi appreciated the UAE’s commitment, emphasizing its importance in providing essential aid to displaced populations.
Representing the UAE at the conference, Jamal Al Musharakh, Permanent Representative to the UN and other International Organizations in Geneva, restated the nation’s dedication to the principles of humanity and dignity. Jamal Al Musharakh stated that, “In supporting UNHCR’s mission, we reaffirm our commitment to the principles of humanity and dignity for all,” highlighting the UAE’s efforts to assist millions of refugees and displaced individuals.
