Abu Dhabi: TRENDS Research & Advisory has officially joined the GDI-PartNIR network, as the first think tank from the Middle East to be included in this global initiative. The announcement was made during the BRICS Forum held in Xiamen, China.
In 2024, the GDI-PartNIR network greeted 23 new members, with TRENDS selected for its impactful research addressing regionally and globally significant issues. The organization is committed to expanding public understanding of policy matters, making its inclusion particularly noteworthy.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, voiced his enthusiasm regarding the center’s acceptance into the GDI-PartNIR network. Abdullah Al-Ali emphasized that this achievement underscores TRENDS’ commitment to promoting international cooperation in scientific research and knowledge exchange.
Abdullah Al-Ali stated that, “This collaboration will heighten relations between the Middle East and China, creating new opportunities for collaboration across various fields.”
The GDI-PartNIR network, which supports the Global Development Initiative championed by President Xi Jinping of China, strives to promote shared development opportunities. Focus areas include green development, new industrialization, and the digital economy.
TRENDS’ membership in this network is expected to enhance its collaboration with Chinese think tanks and broaden its reach to address global issues of mutual interest, such as sustainable development, climate challenges, and digital transformation.
