Al Ain: Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court has visited the 10th edition of the Traditional Handicrafts Festival, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
Running at Al Ain’s Souq Al Qattara until 17th November, the Traditional Handicrafts Festival marks Emirati craftsmanship and cultural heritage, featuring crafter work supported by the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Khalifa toured the traditional souk, entertaining with artisans demonstrating crafts like Al-Sadu, Talli, pottery, and traditional rope making, while researching UAE’s rich culture through handicrafts, medicinal herbs, falconry tools, Arabic coffee, and traditional clothing. Traditional Handicrafts Festival gathers artisans, educational institutions, and organizations committed to preserving Emirati heritage, offering cultural activities and public workshops.
The festival strives to support artisans in innovating their businesses, expanding their products, and meeting modern consumer demands while creating new career opportunities within the handicraft industry. Free entry is open from 9 am to 1 pm for school and university students, and from 4 pm to 11 pm for the public.
