Sharjah: Tanweer Festival 2024 is promising a rich cultural experience from the 22nd to the 24th of November, connecting audiences from around the globe in festivals of art, music, poetry, and cultural heritage. With its theme, “Timeless Echoes of Love and Light,” the Tanweer Festival draws inspiration from the life and legacy of Jalal al-Din Al Rumi, creating a reflective space for artistic and cultural interactions.
Held in the Mleiha Desert, Sharjah, Over 100 musicians from over 15 nations will serve across four uniquely designed stages, including renowned artists such as Sami Yusuf, Dhafer Youssef, Kamal Musallam, and Constantinople with Ghalia Benali.
Visitors can engage themselves in ten creative workshops led by skilled practitioners, covering traditional arts like Sufi whirling and calligraphy lighting. Visionary artists such as Karim + Elias, Ahmad Kattan, and Omar Al Gurg will offer art structures that invite introspection and cultural connection.
The “Nourish” culinary zone will feature a curated selection of 12 vendors showcasing both local and international cuisine, while a marketplace will offer handmade items by 14 artisans, emphasizing sustainability and cultural heritage. For those desiring to examine Mleiha’s historical landscape, activities include tours of the Valley of the Caves, moon-gazing sessions, and paragliding over the desert.
Guests can pick from luxury glamping and camping, with facilities provided by the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority at Al Badayer Retreat, Al Faya Retreat, and Moon Retreat. The festival’s zero-waste commitment, spearheaded by founder Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, strengthens Tanweer’s dedication to sustainable practices, blending cultural celebration with environmental responsibility for a sustainable future.
