Renowned Islamic scholar and Samastha Kerala Jamiat-ul-Ulema secretary Ponmala Abdul Khader Musliyar has opined that Sharia debate for mere political control is against Islam and arguments made by extremists including the Taliban do not have the support of Islam.
Giving religious outlook for those who create tension across the globe by distorting political viewpoints introduced by Islam which were aimed at the holistic welfare and progress of humankind can never be justified. Ponmala Musliyar pointed out that Sunni clerics have always been the first to dismiss extremist Salafis, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and others who propagate nationalism in the name of Islam.

Everyone should clearly understand that arguments made by extremists including the Taliban do not have the support of Islam. Secular believers should remain very cautious about this matter. Scholars and Sunni Organizations have a huge part in defending the Kerala Islamic community from such divergence, Ponmala Musliyar further added.
He was speaking while inaugurating a leader workshop for Kerala Muslim Jamaat district committee zone officials.
Protection of their birthplace is every believer’s responsibility. The action of insulting freedom fighters who fought against foreign rule as part of their religious obligation, by making fake allegations is extremely shameful. Questioning the patriotism of martyrs who gave their lives for the country is real treason. Everyone should unite against such individuals and stand together to reclaim the country, Ponmala Musliyar reminded.
Ponmala Abdul Khader Musliyar urged Kerala Muslim Jamaat leaders and workers to be at the forefront actively, doing good deeds to bring peace and friendly progress to the state and society.
