The Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and Spartan have officially announced the return of the Spartan Beast World Championship, scheduled to take place from 28th November to 1st December 2024 in the Al Wathba Desert. Thousands of athletes, both professional and amateur, will take part, including members of the local community.
The event will feature a new addition this year—a ladies-only Night Sprint on the first day. Female athletes will tackle 20 obstacles over a five-kilometre route in complete privacy, testing their limits in the vast desert terrain. On the 29th, a five-kilometre Night Sprint, open to both men and women, will follow.
The 30th November will see the 21-kilometre Beast Race with 30 obstacles for elite and age-group athletes, while the kids’ obstacle race will also take place. The final day, 1st December, will host the Team Relay, the Super Race, and the Sprint, bringing the championship to a thrilling close.
Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of ADSC, said, “With the great success of the Spartan Beast World Championship in previous years, we are anticipating another exciting and competitive edition.”
Joe De Sena, Spartan Founder, added, “Abu Dhabi offers an incredible setting for one of Spartan’s most challenging championship events.”
