Abu Dhabi: Slovenian President Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, visited Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, accompanied by Slovenian Ambassador to the UAE, Natalija Mansour, and other delegation members.
The visit began with the group paying respects at the mausoleum of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Founding Father. Here, they reflected on Sheikh Zayed’s legacy and his dedication to fostering tolerance and peaceful coexistence, values that have left a significant impact on global cultures.
Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar and her delegation, joined by Dr. Yousif Al Obaidli, Director General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, toured the mosque’s halls and corridors, gaining insight into its cultural message of coexistence, tolerance, and openness—values inspired by the UAE’s Founding Father. They learned about the mosque’s role in promoting Islamic culture and fostering intercultural communication globally.

The delegation was briefed on the mosque’s history, its stunning Islamic architectural features, and unique artifacts that reflect Islamic civilization’s contributions through time. The mosque’s harmonious and intricate designs beautifully illustrate the blend of diverse cultures within a single, unified structure.
At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar was presented with a special gift reflecting the mosque’s architectural elegance.
This included floral mosaic designs from the mosque’s exterior columns, a compass inspired by its magnificent chandeliers, and a copy of ‘Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: Lights of Peace’. This publication, produced by the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, provides a visual journey through the mosque’s architecture, showcasing award-winning photographs from the ‘Spaces of Light’ Photography Award and capturing the unique artistry that defines the mosque.
