Abu Dhabi: The General Women’s Union (GWU) has announced that the fourth cohort of participants in the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Women, Peace, and Security initiative will undergo specialised training in artificial intelligence (AI).
This programme, in partnership with Khalifa University of Science and Technology, aims to equip women with advanced skills to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving field of technology.
Running through September, the training is designed to enhance women’s roles in peace and security, foster networks among women in military and peacekeeping fields, and increase their representation in these critical sectors.
Noura Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General of GWU, highlighted that this initiative aligns with the vision of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, known as the Mother of the Nation.
As Chairwoman of the GWU, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, Sheikha Fatima has consistently championed the empowerment of women both in the UAE and globally.
Al Suwaidi noted that the AI training sessions are designed to provide participants with essential skills in using advanced technologies responsibly, preparing them to promote digital literacy and social responsibility within their communities.
Professor Ebrahim Al Hajri, President of Khalifa University, emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration to raise awareness and ensure the safe and effective use of AI for societal benefit.
