Ras Al Khaimah: H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has attended Nordic Lights: An Evening of Finnish Music at the Ras Al Khaimah Cultural Development Center.
The Finnish Music event, held under his patronage, was organized by the Embassy of Finland in the UAE and celebrated cultural exchange through music.
Speaking at the Finnish Music event, Sheikh Saud highlighted the importance of cross-cultural understanding in fostering mutual respect, innovation, and societal progress. Sheikh Saud stated that, “Understanding the cultures of different peoples improves civilizational communication and strengthens relationships.”
The evening featured concerts by world-renowned Finnish artists, including cellist Jussi Makkonen and pianist Nazig Azezian, who joined the Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Riad Kudsi. The highlight of the program was the UAE premiere of Nordic Adagio, a piece composed by Tuomas Kantelinen for Makkonen and Azezian, marking their first collaboration with the orchestra.
Sheikh Saud commended the participating artists for their outstanding performances, which showcased the depth of Finnish artistry and its contribution to cultural enrichment.
