Dubai: Seven projects, valued at AED2 billion ($545mn), have been unveiled by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, to enhance thHe capabilities of Dubai Police.
The initiatives emphasize enhanced security, advanced police training, and welfare projects, aiming to solidify Dubai’s status as a leading global city for safety and security.
This announcement was made during His Highness’s visit to the Dubai Police Officers Club in Al Jaddaf, where he was joined by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE; H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai; and H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council.
Upon arrival, His Highness and his delegation were welcomed by Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, along with other senior officers and police officials.
They seven projects, designed to enhance safety, innovation, and police welfare are;
Dubai Police Academy Expansion
A new AED1 billion ($272.5mn) Dubai Police Academy complex in Al Ruwayyah 1 will house 2,500 cadets across four dedicated zones, including residential, academic, sports, and training areas, with an estimated completion by 2027.
New Hatta Training Center
The Hatta training center, opening in 2025, will accommodate 180 students with classrooms, residential spaces, a sports field, and other facilities at an unspecified cost.
‘Area 56’ Crime Prevention and Data Center
The AED300 million ($81.7mn) Area 56 project integrates AI and data analysis to enhance crime prevention and predictive policing capabilities.
Dubai Police Housing Project
In Umm Al Daman, the AED300 million ($81.7mn) second phase of Dubai Police housing will offer 246 residential units, sports facilities, and retail spaces, slated for completion by 2026.
Security and Emergency Facility
A new AED300 million ($81.7mn) building for the General Department of Organization Protective Security and Emergency will include a training field, lecture hall, and other facilities, expected to open in 2026.
Bur Dubai Police Station Expansion
The AED90.9 million ($24.8mn) expansion includes a Smart Police Station (SPS) and updated sections for registration, investigation, and administrative needs.
Forensic Medicine Building
Equipped with virtual anatomy and forensic technology, this AED300 million ($81.7mn) facility will operate 24/7 to advance forensic services and data analysis.
Floating Smart Police Station (SPS)
Additionally, the world’s first Floating Smart Police Station, located offshore at The World Islands, will provide automated, round-the-clock services for boaters and water sports enthusiasts, further demonstrating Dubai’s dedication to pioneering security solutions.
