Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has approved a series of housing projects worth AED 5.4bn ($1.47bn) to provide 3,004 new homes for Emirati citizens across Dubai.
These projects cater to both housing loan and housing grant beneficiaries, ensuring a wide distribution of resources and options for residents.
Under the housing loan category, 1,181 homes are set to be built in Latifa City. For beneficiaries of the housing grant category, new homes will be constructed in various areas, including 606 in Al Yalayis 5, 432 in Wadi Al Amardi, 398 in Al Awir 1, 200 in the Makan area of Hatta, 120 in Oud Al Muteena, and 67 in Dubai’s rural and countryside regions.
The housing initiatives align with the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Program, launched by H.H. Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed.
This program aims to support family wellbeing, stability, and cohesion while enhancing the quality of life, fostering a balanced work-life dynamic, and creating a stimulating social environment.
Sheikh Mohammed highlighted citizen wellbeing as the core of government efforts, stating that housing programs are a top priority to ensure high living standards, stable families, and strong communities. HH affirmed that citizens are the foundation of the UAE’s development and global success.
HH also noted that these housing projects are part of a broader plan to ensure stability, meet national aspirations, and drive future prosperity.
Omar Hamad Bu Shehab, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, highlighted the leadership’s vision to create integrated residential environments offering exceptional comfort and safety. He added that the projects are designed using advanced urban planning standards to address future housing needs over the next 20 years.
The initiative aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, focusing on sustainable land use, diverse housing options, and communities with green spaces, recreational facilities, and commercial centers, all aimed at offering citizens an unparalleled quality of life.
