Abu Dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, has welcomed the participants of the “Active Abu Dhabi” program, marking the closing of the ‘WALK1000’ initiative.
Sheikh Mansour praised the organizers and participants for their dedication and commitment to the health and community-driven objectives of the initiative. Sheikh Mansour highlighted the importance of “Active Abu Dhabi” Program in encouraging physical activity as a fundamental element of a healthy lifestyle, which in turn enhances overall well-being.
The Vice President also highlighted the vital role of community support in encouraging individuals and emphasized the need to sustain initiatives that instil positive health values across society. The ‘WALK1000’ initiative stands out by embodying the UAE’s vision of improving national identity and sustainability. It features paths that pass through historical landmarks such as forts and traditional souqs (markets), allowing participants to unite with the country’s rich cultural heritage.
Furthermore, the program integrates environmental awareness, with key locations such as the Al Wathba Wetland Reserve spotlighting biodiversity and conservation efforts. Reflecting the values of coexistence and tolerance, the initiative brought together participants from diverse cultural backgrounds, strengthening the inclusive spirit of the UAE.
