Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, presented the men’s and women’s champions of the inaugural Dubai Premier Padel P1 at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.
Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia triumphed in the men’s tournament, while Bea Gonzalez and Delfina Brea Senesi took the women’s title. The awards ceremony marked the conclusion of a thrilling week of competition featuring the world’s top players, with a prize pool of Dh1.89mn ($514,080).
Sheikh Mansoor highlighted Dubai’s position as a global sports hub, noting that the success of the championship reflected the emirate’s advanced infrastructure and supportive regulatory environment. Sheikh Mansoor emphasized Dubai’s role in promoting sports both locally and internationally, with strong backing from leadership.
The inaugural Premier Padel P1 tournament was organized by Gallop Global and supported by the UAE Padel Association, the International Padel Federation, the Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai Sports Council, and Premier Padel.
In the men’s final, Coello and Tapia triumphed 6-4, 6-3 against Federico Chingotto and Alejandro Galan in front of a crowd of over 5,000.
Coello, having secured 30 consecutive match wins, expressed his delight at winning in Dubai, describing the city and the tournament as special.
In the women’s final, Gonzalez and Brea Senesi claimed victory with a 6-2, 6-3 scoreline. Despite Brea Senesi being unable to attend the press conference due to illness, Gonzalez expressed surprise at her high performance after returning from a recent break.
Gonzalez said that, “It was unexpected to play at this level, especially so soon after returning from injury, It has been a long period of recovery, which has meant a lack of competition, so I’m very happy for Delfina and myself to win this tournament.
Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAEPA, expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mansoor for his continued support of padel in Dubai. Sheikh Saeed congratulated the champions—Arturo, Agustin, Bea, and Delfina—on their historic victories at the inaugural Premier Padel event in Dubai. Sheikh Saeed also hoped that this landmark event would inspire the next generation of local champions to take up the sport.
Saeed Mohammed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, stated that the Dubai Premier Padel P1 has quickly established itself as a world-class event, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation for hosting major international sports.
Hareb highlighted that bringing top male and female players to Dubai boosts both the sport’s growth in the emirate and the prosperity of the community. Also Hareb congratulated Premier Padel, the champions, the organizers, and Dubai for their success.
Ivan Modia, Tournament Director of the Dubai Premier Padel P1 and CEO of Gallop Global, expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mansoor and the UAE’s leadership for their support of the nation’s sports sector.
Modia also praised the tournament’s partners, including UAEPA, DET, DSC, FIP, and Premier Padel, for their dedication to the event and the growth of padel in the UAE.
