Abu Dhabi: The Nafis initiative, unveiled by His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, aims to enhance private sector employment opportunities in Al Ain.
Developed by the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council in collaboration with the Central Bank of the UAE, the initiative focuses on achieving the UAE’s Emiratization goals by creating job openings and tailored training programs, supported by strategic partnerships across critical economic sectors.
The first phase, running until 2026, aims to generate 2,000 jobs and offer 2,000 training opportunities in Al Ain, with 1,700 positions specifically allocated to the financial and banking sectors.
This phase is being implemented with major UAE banks, including Emirates NBD, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, and HSBC.

During the launch, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed met with prominent figures such as His Excellency Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE, and His Excellency Ghannam Butti Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council.
Discussions included updates on Emiratization efforts, the Central Bank’s strategy for national recruitment in banking and insurance, and plans for developing Emirati talent in Al Ain over the next two years.
His Excellency Khaled Mohamed Balama highlighted the Central Bank’s dedication to Emiratization, emphasizing efforts to equip Emirati professionals in Al Ain with advanced skills for leadership roles in the financial sector. HE also expressed gratitude to Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed for his enduring support, which plays a crucial role in fostering sustainable employment opportunities in the region.
His Excellency Ghannam Butti Al Mazrouei echoed these sentiments, underscoring that initiatives like Nafis align with the UAE’s commitment to accelerating Emirati participation in the private sector and advancing the leadership’s vision for economic development.
Through strategic partnerships and operational plans, the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council continues to drive efforts to train and employ Emirati talent in Al Ain, fostering long-term growth and competitiveness.
